Smaller but more personal than a boutique hotel,
yet offering so much more than just a bed and some breakfast, we
take a maximum of only six guests at any one time, ensuring that
you can really appreciate the location, the peace and the tranquillity
of Iskeroon.
The accommodation comprises just two self-contained
Bed & Breakfast suites and a self-catering
apartment, all located in the wisteria-clad coach-house just
25 metres away from the main house where breakfast is served.
Each suite contains a king-sized bed, fresh flowers,
free wireless broadband internet access, interesting books, Scrabble
and backgammon, television, a DVD library, and an i-Pod docking
station.
"One of the ten best places to stay in Ireland" The Irish Times
Each suite also has a small, well-equipped kitchen,
making them suitable for self-catering accommodation if you prefer.
For guests that stay at Iskeroon on a Bed & Breakfast basis,
having a kitchen gives you the option of preparing your own lunch
or dinner, perhaps a welcome respite from always eating in restaurants?
"truly a hidden gem" Karen Brown’s Ireland 2007
Location, location, location – it may be
a well-worn cliché, but it is vitally important.
Situated just two and a half miles off the Ring
of Kerry, you feel as if you are 100 miles from the main road, so
complete are the peace and tranquillity.
"There's no finer setting in Ireland than that
of Iskeroon" Condé Nast Traveler, September 2007
Iskeroon’s incredible location in Kerry is
what makes it unique. Set in 4.5 acres of semi-tropical gardens
which lead down to the sea, and our own private pier, you can take
a trip to the Skelligs, visit Derrynane National Park, walk along
one of the best beaches in the country, swim off our pier and go
sailing, kayaking and fishing, all without getting into your car.
Iskeroon’s position on the Ring of Kerry
also makes it the perfect base from which to explore the Ring itself,
the Skellig Rocks, the Ballaghbeema Pass, Valentia Island, the Beara
Peninsula, the lakes, mountains and National Park around Killarney
and the Dingle Peninsula, all easily reachable within a day.
As always, the best places to see in Kerry are
those off the beaten track, unseen and unknown by most visitors.
We are delighted to advise you on the best places to see and things
to do and also to advise you on how to avoid the coaches that drive
(anti-clockwise) around the Ring. (Some guidebooks make an unnecessarily
big deal out of these coaches – with some local knowledge,
you will hardly notice them.)
The beauty of Iskeroon is that you can do as much,
or as little, as you like. If total relaxation and privacy is what
you want, you’ll find it here. We take it as a great compliment
that many people get engaged at Iskeroon, and come here on honeymoon.
"This is remarkably tranquil place with lovely
views, the food is great and there is a lot to do. What else do
you want?" Alastair Sawday's Special Places to Stay in Ireland
On average, our guests stay for three nights, and
most wish they could stay longer. We have a minimum stay requirement
of two nights for Bed & Breakfast (or five nights if self-catering).
This enables you to relax and enjoy the place - surely the point
of a holiday. Too many people spend too much of their time in the
car, chasing from place to place, following an itinerary put together
by someone who hasn’t driven on Kerry roads ....
