Derrynane

Iskeroon looks out over Derrynane Harbour. This well hidden, natural harbour, very popular with visiting yachts, was the site of
much smuggling as well as legal trading activity in the eighteenth
century. A path leads from the bottom of our garden to Derrynane National Park, Abbey Island and the magnificent blue beach.
The Skelligs

For many of our guests, a trip to the Skelligs is the unexpected highlight of their trip to Kerry. Some guests come to Iskeroon specifically to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, others go on our recommendation, never having heard of the Skellig Islands. Either way, they come back astounded.
Derrynane National Park

Derrynane House is the ancestral home of Daniel O'Connell, lawyer, politician and statesman. The house is now a museum and forms part of the Derrynane National Park.
Caherdaniel

Caherdaniel is our nearest village. It has two pubs, Freddies and The Blind Piper, and a restaurant. There has been human settlement around what is now Caherdaniel for more than 2000 years |

Travel in Kerry |
 |

On average, our guests stay in the suites for three nights, and most wish they could stay longer. This enables you to relax and enjoy the place - surely the point of a holiday. Too many people spend too much of their time in the car, chasing from place to place, following an itinerary put together by someone who hasn’t driven on Kerry roads .... As always, the best places to see in Kerry are those off the beaten track, unseen and unknown by most visitors. We are delighted to advise you on the best places to see and things to do and also to advise you on how to avoid the coaches that drive (anti-clockwise) around the Ring. (Some guidebooks make an unnecessarily big deal out of these coaches – with some local knowledge, you will hardly notice them.) |
